Co-Head - Europe
Paul Bashir brings 27 years of experience to Harrison Street Asset Management. As Co-Head of Europe he is responsible for the strategic leadership and growth of the firm’s European platform. Paul leads key aspects of HSAM’s European capital strategy, institutional investor engagement and business development across the region. His role includes driving the expansion of the firm’s European investment strategies, deepening relationships with global institutional partners, and overseeing the continued development of the firm’s teams across the UK and Continental Europe.
Prior to joining Harrison Street Asset Management, Paul served as Global President and Chief Operating Officer of a real estate investment and asset management firm, where he led a business with a portfolio in excess of $8 billion and a team of 260 professionals across 15 offices in 14 countries. In that role, he was responsible for the firm’s global operating model, overseeing institutional capital raising, executing complex strategic transactions, securing regulatory approvals and driving investment and development activity across Europe.
Earlier in his career, Paul held senior partner roles at real estate asset management groups investing across a broad range of sectors, including data centres, retail, commercial, student accommodation and living strategies. Across these roles, he developed deep experience in raising and deploying institutional capital, structuring joint ventures with European operating partners, and building scalable investment businesses across multiple jurisdictions.
Paul began his career in Corporate Finance at KPMG, where he spent eight years and qualified as an ACA. He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Newcastle University.
