Global Head of Credit - Real Estate
Niraj Shah brings more than 27 years of experience in the real estate industry to Harrison Street Asset Management and serves as a member of the firm’s Investment and Portfolio Committees. As a Partner and Global Head of Credit – Real Estate, he is responsible for establishing, overseeing, and implementing the firm’s strategic direction with respect to all credit initiatives and investment activity.
Prior to joining Harrison Street Asset Management, Niraj was Global Head of Credit at Rockwood and prior to that, he was a senior member of the Real Estate group at Citi Markets & Banking where he was responsible for the pricing, structuring, and distribution of Citi’s subordinated debt and leveraged loan positions for the Commercial Real Estate group. During his career at Citi, Niraj sourced, structured, underwrote, and executed numerous large and highly structured and event driven transactions for large publicly traded REITs and financial sponsors. Prior to Citi, Shah was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in its Transaction Services practice, providing M&A advisory services to private equity firms and corporations.
Niraj received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and International Business from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the CRE Finance Council and serves on the Smeal College of Business Real Estate Advisory Board. Niraj also serves as a Board Member of the enCourage Kids Foundation.
