General Counsel – Traditional Real Estate and Credit
Marti Breier brings more than 23 years of experience in the real estate industry to Harrison Street Asset Management. As Partner and General Counsel – Traditional Real Estate and Credit, she serves as the chief legal officer and compliance officer for the firm’s traditional real estate and credit platforms. In this role, Marti is responsible for legal and compliance oversight of the firm’s traditional real estate and credit investment funds, including fund formation, underlying real estate transactions, and ongoing regulatory and compliance matters. She works closely with teams across the firm, including Investor Relations, Tax, and Accounting, to support and execute the firm’s business objectives.
Prior to joining Rockwood, Marti was an associate in the real estate department of Paul Hastings LLP, an international law firm, where she specialized in real estate and real estate related transactions. During her tenure at Paul Hastings LLP, Marti represented major institutional investors, financial institutions, developers, and pension funds in a variety of real estate and real estate related transactions.
Marti earned a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from San Diego State University and a Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law. She is admitted to the practice of law in the State of California.
