Joey Lansing brings more than 35 years of industry experience to Harrison Street Asset Management and serves as a member of the firm’s Operating and Investment Committees. As Co-President and Global Head of Portfolio Management – Real Assets, he plays a key leadership role in shaping the firm’s investment strategy, overseeing portfolio construction and investment performance across all strategies, as well as advancing platform development to support continued growth. Joey also serves as Co-Senior Portfolio Manager for the firm’s US Alternative Core Fund, the flagship strategy he joined to launch in 2011, where he continues to provide senior oversight and strategic direction.
Prior to joining the firm, Joey was Chief Operating Officer of an institutional real estate consulting firm, where he led strategic planning, compliance, and performance measurement. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at Syndicated Equities, where he launched and managed two private real estate funds of funds, and at Levy Restaurants, where he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel following several years practicing real estate law in Chicago.
Joey is a Founding Member, Director, and Finance Committee Chair of Chicago Scholars. He earned a B.A. in Political Science with distinction from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
