Managing Director - Asia, Investor Solutions Group
James Choi brings over 17 years of experience to Harrison Street Asset Management. As Managing Director – Asia in the Investor Solutions Group, James is responsible for business development and capital formation in the Asia Pacific regions. He has raised institutional capital from investors based in North America and Asia Pacific on behalf of the firm’s products globally.
Prior to joining Harrison Street Asset Management, James worked in portfolio management for the Harrison Street Core Property Fund. Earlier in his career, he was with MSCI, a leading provider of benchmarking and portfolio analysis services to the institutional investment management industry. In that role, he focused on client consultancy, business development, and product development.
James holds a BBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and is a CFA charterholder. He is an active member of Pension Real Estate Association (“PREA”), Institutional Real Estate (“IREI”) Asia Pacific, and Asian Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate Vehicles (“ANREV”).
