Chief Financial and Operating Officer - Europe
Herbert Beckmann brings 25 years of industry experience to Harrison Street Asset Management (HSAM). As Partner, CFO and COO for Europe, he is responsible for overseeing the financial operations, fund administration, regulatory compliance, and internal controls, as well as driving operational efficiency across the firm’s European investment platform. He is also a member of the firm’s European Management, Valuation, AI, Integration & Inclusion, and Culture and Wellbeing Committees.
Prior to the rebranding of RoundShield as HSAM Europe, Herbert was Partner and CFO and COO at RoundShield.
Prior to RoundShield, Herbert was a Vice President and Fund Controller at Fortress Investment Group and Focus Investment Group, where he was responsible for the financial reporting and regulatory compliance of their European investment funds. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche in South Africa as an Auditor.
Herbert holds a Bachelor’s and Honours Degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
