Mr. Hopkins brings 19 years of industry experience to the Firm. As a Managing Director in the Transactions group, he is responsible for originating, underwriting and executing new utility investments for the Social Infrastructure Fund. Mr. Hopkins also supports the development of the fund’s investment strategies and leads efforts to form joint venture relationships with operating partners. Mr. Hopkins has over 12 years of energy project finance and development experience and has led or advised on over $2 billion of global equity investments across 2.5 gigawatts of projects.

Prior to joining Harrison Street, Mr. Hopkins served as Vice President at Astris Finance, a financial advisory firm focused on capital raising for energy and infrastructure transactions including power generation assets, transmission lines, and toll roads. Prior to Astris, Mr. Hopkins was a Vice President at GE Energy Financial Services, and during his six years at GE he led structured equity investments in renewable energy projects in the U.S. and Japan. Prior to GE, Mr. Hopkins was a key member of the commercial solar project development team at SunPower Corporation, and before that began his career on equity and fixed income trading desks at Goldman Sachs.

Mr. Hopkins holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
